TWO MEDICINE HAT by Faye Kennington
The intriguing green yarn used in my first hat is named “Two Medicine” after an area of Glacier National Park. The area is so named because of 2 medicine lodges that were in the area.
Wanting to see the difference that a whole other palette would bring to the stranded motifs, I chose an icy blue and bright pink for my second sample. These colours created a hat with cheering and youthful appeal. With two colourways that bring equally uplifting but different energies, Two Medicine became the name for this pattern. Whichever colours you choose, I hope the project proves good medicine for you.
This slouchy hat is worked in the round from the ribbed brim to the crown. Decrease rows are worked into single colour rest rows between charted stranded sections.
The finished hat is 19½ (22¼)”/ 49.5 (56.5)cm around and 10 (10)”/ 24.6 (25)cm deep.
