Gallatin. Gallatin County Montana is home to the Gallatin National Forest and Yellowstone National Park. Stacked with mountains, forests, and rivers, we figured a true evergreen colorway would be the perfect nod to an amazing area. Gallatin will do well with cables and lace, as well as a stand alone in any project.
This hand-dyed color is available on all our yarn bases, click here to learn more. Shop updates are uploaded weekly, so if we are out of your color choice, check back soon.
We have taken great effort to ensure that our photos are as true to color as possible. However, due to the hand-dyed process and differences in yarn bases, variations in color and patterning may occur. Your individual monitor settings can also cause the appearance of the color on the screen to differ from our actual photograph.
For best results, we recommend alternating skeins as you work. Purchase adequate amounts to complete your project.

Gallatin
PDS never has disappointed. I rejoice in the day I found their shop. My LYS now carries their yarn, too. I purchases this colorway as a possible match to another skein I already had. Colorwork hat is in my plans. Love this shop, and love their yarns!

Gallatin in Tenderfoot
The color is lush and deeply saturated, like all their yarns. Beautiful. I can’t wait to start my next pair of socks with Gallatin.

tender foot sock yarn
This is the most beautiful shade of deep green. It looks even better in person. I haven't started the sweater this yarn is intended for but have knit with Tenderfoot many times and love it. The yarn has great stitch definition and lovely drape. I think it will make the sweater perfectly.

Whitefish worsted in Gallatin
I recently learned about Polka Dot Sheep Yarn, and have worked with several different varieties. The beautiful shades of green in Gallatin are really gorgeous. I’m working on a blanket for my husband so this project will take some time, and I’m thrilled that this yarn is a pleasure to use. Thank you for such magnificent yarn!

I love the color of this yarn. I’m looking for something special to knit. Not socks because of the silk content.
What attracted me to this yarn was the name Gallatin. It is the name of the street in Indiana that I grew up on in the 1950s. I was also intrigued by the Montana history of the name.
