Smoke Jumper. Smokejumpers are specially trained wildland firefighters who provide an initial attack response on remote wildland fires. They are inserted at the site of the fire by parachute. This colorway is a nod to the hard and dangerous work these women and men do to protect our forests and structures each fire season.

Smokejumper
I have purchased this in Tenderfoot, and am now branching out to DK weight. This yarn title has special meaning to me, and the colors do its name justice. Not sure what I will cast on but this is a beautiful skein of yarn. As always, Polka Dot Sheep's service was excellent, and that is why they are my 'go to' for hand dyed yarn.

The rich hues are redolent of the wildfires they represent and a tribute to the smoke jumpers that fight those fires into submission. A hat? Socks? I am not sure, but I am excited to knit with this yarn.
