DOWNLOADABLE PRODUCT

My main inspiration for this pattern stemmed from the need to keep snowflakes off the lenses of my newly prescribed eyeglasses. So thanks to needing glasses, I understood the practicality of a brimmed hat and designed this lid. The sweeping main cable reminded me of a sweet line of figure 8’s on a grand day of power skiing. Hence the name Off Piste.

Instructions are charted and written for personal preference. All measurements are given in US and metric.

off piste: existing or taking place on snow that has not been compacted into tracks

YARN: 130 yd. / 130 m of Aran (heavy worsted) weight

NEEDLES: US 8 and 9 / 5 and 5.5 mm

NOTIONS: Cable needle, tapestry needle, and stitch markers.

GAUGE: 16 stitches and 22 rows to 4 in / 10 cm over stockinette stitch using larger needle

TO FIT HEAD SIZE: This hat is very stretchy and fits most adult heads.
