Striata by Aimee Alexander

Striata is a simple, easily-memorized motif designed to highlight the beauty of the gradient yarn of the same name, Striata. I highly recommend using PDS Striata.  It's long color-blocks evolve so slowly you hardly notice them changing beneath your hook or needles.  But, alternately, this cowl is perfect for variegates, mini-skeins, or scraps from your stash.

Yarn: Fingering weight.

Main color: 425 yd / 388 m (shown in Polka Dot Sheep Striata in Grinnell).

Contrast color: 160 yd / 146 m (shown in Polka Dot Sheep Iron Horse in Shale).

Needles: 24” / 60 cm circular needles in the following size:

US 4 / 3.5 mm

Notions: (1) stitch marker, a tape measure, and a tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
